Goiter: Can a goiter swelling go down when hypo... - Thyroid UK
Goiter
Whitetulip, yes. High TSH can cause the thyroid gland and goitre to swell in an attempt to produce more hormone and when TSH drops the goitre often subsides.
Yes it should go down. A goitre is the gland swelling to try to produce more thyroid hormone. Properly medicated it should decrease.
Thanks for getting back to me I wonder am I going mad lol . Think my ths is to high now .
Hi
Mine went down soon after staring meds i think its caused by pituary gland asking for hormones from tbyroid when it doesnt get it thyroid enlarges but it should go down (thats it put in simple terms!!)
Take care
Thanks ollie I think it's went down a bit but still a lot of pain in neck an shoulder . Sometimes I wonder is it my imagination . Lol going mad
It would depend on what the Goiter is. If it is full of T Cells, from having Hashimoto, the meds lesson this and the T Cells diminish, and swelling goes down.
Thanks don't know what it's full of but it's quite painfull but not as swollen still waiting for hos app for scan ... Nhs absolute diwn the pan
