I've just looked at my blood test results and it says under full blood count, mean corpusc haemoglobbin (MCH) 32.2 - range 26.9 - 32.00pg anyone know what this means please? Also serum bilirubin level 21 umol/L - range 3.40 - 20.50. I'm guessing to do with iron?

Suzie311057, Bilirubin is measured to diagnose or monitor liver disease. Your result is slightly over range and on its own is unlikely to be significant.

Elevated MCH means red blood cells are larger than normal and may indicate B12 or folate deficiency.
Hi Suzie,
sometimes my Bilirubin is raised but it does not usually cause me any problems. My GP said I have Gilbert Syndrome, as do my two sons, it is genetic but does not need any treatment.
