hi, if my full blood count is classed as normal by gp do i still need to bother with b12 test or even ferritin and folate? im thinking of doing one of these tests but don't want to waste money unnecessarily.

Minus, FBC doesn't test for ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate.

Absolutely, I was told my tests were normal when I had pernicious anaemia and iron def anaemia. Nhs will always say results are normal. It saves them money. In range does not mean optimal. Best to get copy and see where you are in range

Yes because they are different tests and different types of anaemias. Iron studies bloods measure Ferritin levels amongst other things; B12 & folate are measured in the same blood test.
