Hello again and thanks to all who replied to my different posts.! After the consultation wasn't sure if endo was being helpful as I did a lot of the talking, showed more information 'relating improvement of cfs symptoms to undiagnosed thyroid issues etc ..to which he said do I think I would feel better on thyroid hormone to which I said I don't knowi think so I'd like to try . He said he couldn't prescribe it but was happy for me to order a low dose and see me in 8 weeks. I'm starting on a v small amount maybe as I'm already on fludrocortisone. He doesn't want me to go any higher than 1 grain starting at a quarter...
can I ask for advice about brands which are good and where I can order it from. He gave me a website for armour but on reading sttm seems there is mixed reports on content etc.

OK, so you're talking about NDT - you're not in the UK, are you. Anyway, the best brand of NDT is the one that makes you well. And the only way to find out which one that is is to try. No-one can tell you which one is going to suit you best.
A lot of people do very well on Armour - you should take everything you read on STTM with a pinch of salt, they're a bit evangelistic! Armour is like all the other brands - suits some, doesn't suit others. You just have to try it and see. And as he's given you a prescription for Armour, why not start with that and see how it goes.
As to where to get it, I'm afraid I can't help you with that. No form of NDT suited me, and I'm no T3 only. So, we're all different.
Thanks for your reply grey goose. I am in UK the endo wouldn't give me a prescription although agreed that ndt is better than levo and its madness but still wouldn't commit to prescription. He will monitor me and did phone me when I emailed saying I was confused over what I doing. Can I ask how does someone know if t3 is better for them. I guess that's trial and error...is it due to rt3.. Thanks for your reply apapologies for delayed reply had a cold !
Can be due to many things. I just can't tolerate T4 in any shape or form - and I've tried them all. So, yes, it is just trial and error. Nobody - not even a doctor, although they claim the can! - can know in advance what is going to suit you.
