Thanks do much to everyone for all your assistance last week. You were all so helpful and I've taken on board lots of your thoughts. I've raised my B12 supplements and also am now up to 1:25 grains of Naturethyroid. Will keep you all posted on progress. I wonder if you can advise me on my mums recent thyroid results. She has fibromyalgia and often feels unwell. Her results are:
Total thyroxine 97
Free T4 15.2
Free T3 5.2
TSH. 2.79
No antibodies.
She has been told she is fine and required no treatment.
Will be so grateful to hear your thoughts. Thanks so much x

Hi Laura, even without ranges, the blood tests look sluggish. I've been posting Dr. Clark's videos who comments on 24 reasons for low thyroid. Sometimes it is due to glucose fluctuations, sometimes it is a lack of iodine which the thyroid needs, perhaps a stressful situation, or even low acid so that digestion doesn't bring about the nutritional needs like B12 and magnesium. I'm sorry to say most GPs will just wait until there is more of a failure and then supply her with hormone.
If she could stay away from fluoride and chlorine which interferes with iodine reception and add digestive enzymes and/or vinegar with meals and limit carbohydrates, it may allow her system to revitalize. If she is menopausal, progesterone might be helpful. I am surprised she has no antibodies as that is the usual culprit. Did she have more than one antibody test?
I'll post two short videos to give you the idea if you haven't seen them yet but I've been showing them for months. You can see more by clicking the youtube icon at the bottom right corner.
