Acid Reflux

I have severe acid reflux despite going gluten free, low sugar and lactose free. It is so bad it burns my throat and into my nose. How do I tell if it is low acid or to much acid? Thanks

Maycov, It may be worth asking your GP to rule out hiatus hernia which causes reflux. Hiatus hernia and hypothyroidism are common co-illnesses.

This link describes how to do a bicarbonate of soda test to check low acid scdlifestyle.com/2012/03/3-...

I found Ranitidine helpful for painful heartburn/indigestion and acid reflux which made me vomit but it isn't something which should be taken regularly (unless hiatus hernia or oesophagus problems are diagnosed) as it lowers stomach acid. Once adequately medicated on thyroid replacement the problem cleared.
