Blood test results...

Thyroidproblemssuck profile image

Hi all. I've got the print out of my results and I've already increased my thyroxine from 125mg to 150mg, but I'd still like advice please?

I'll add via photo below.

TSH seems still out of range. What I notice is ferritin is also very low which may cause hairloss, fatigue.. vitaminb12 range differs in every lab but it looks close to the bottom range which may cause weakness, tingling in the hands and feet.

Thank you for the advice. I got these results back 1 week ago and increased T4 then so these are the results before the increase. The doctor said to repeat the test in 6 weeks time. I still have muscle weakness and I'm still tired, but no hair loss (fingers crossed). Should I wait until the next test results are back?

for me when I do a dosage increase I see the effects in about 3-4 weeks so I'd wait until then, your muscle pain is definitely due to high TSH, it was the same for me.

(I've also just found out that the vitamin D test results were greater than 50)

Thank you missymystique xx

Thyroidproblemssuck, Your TSH is high, but your FT4 and FT3 are relatively good considering. 25mcg will help raise FT4 and FT3 and lower TSH but I think it likely you will require a further increase after your next blood test. Leave 24 hours between last dose and blood draw.

Ferritin is low, optimal is half way through range. Supplement iron and take each iron tablet with 500mg-1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption. Take iron 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.

B12 is low and neurological symptoms can be experienced when it is <500 so supplement 1,000mcg methylcobalamin sublingual lozenges, spray or patches and take a B Complex vitamin to improve your folate and keep the other B vits balanced.

Can you find out the exact vitD result? VitD is optimal 75-200.

Thank you Clutter for the info and advice. All the doctors receptionist said is that the Vit D was in excess of 50. I'll give the vitamins a go and see how I get on 👍🏼
