blood test results
Sorry you had such a bad day - please could you post your test results on here when you get them as normal may not be normal for you. xx
when i walked out of the docters this morning,i thought to myself, whats normal,i don't feel normal at all,i don't feel as bad as before i was diagnosed, but i know i'm not right.
Doctors often think that when on treatment if TSH is in the normal range then you are OK. This is NOT the case. Most people on thyroxine need their TSH to be below 1 or even suppressed (below 1) to feel well. Please post the actual numbers on here (together with the ranges) when you get them. xx
How on earth do you get your actual results? I am only told I am wihin normal range - I am on 100mcg Thyroxine and just feel dreadful all the time.
I asked at my doctors, first they wanted to charge me if I had them in writing but if I wrote them down myself that was free. They were not too pleased about this and I posted them on this site and did not get a reply which left me none the wiser.I await new results at the moment but I know I will be told I am normal,I don't feel normal.
i finnally saw my docter yesterday.and my docter willingly wrote down my blood results for the past two years.but the last one wasTSH 1.08.he said it needs to be between 0.03-5.5 to be normal wich he said i am,and that i'm probely deppressed after my husband leaving me.i agree with the depressing bit but it still feels like thyroid prob's to me.i am having another blood test on friday to check if i'm anemic.
You sound just like me I feel wretched, nausea, tight chest, overwhelmingly tired, groggy, dizzy etc... had thyroid function done and came back yesterday 'normal' and they said they cant see the TSH result to give me the range!!!! Dr thinks it just stress, am on 150mg Thyroxine at the moment.... and thoroughly fed up. Keep us up to date mumofthree, your not on your own. Good luck.
Well, your doctor may be right in saying 'stress' but he doesn't realise he may be the cause of it.
I do not understand that they say they cannot see the TSH blood test result!
I just go into my doctor's surgery and ask the Receptionist for a print-off for my Consultant and I get one there and then.
Mine do not charge but if you ask and they want a payment, write it down complete with ranges and post here. It is very important as some may only need a small increase in meds.
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in September. To get my results, I simply call the reception of my surgery and ask to print them - even if they're normal. Then, I send them to my NHS endocrinologist. He usually comes back to me the following day with a new dose of Carbimazole to take and he sends the result to my surgery. The GPs at my surgery are useless, they know nothing about TFT. I only deal with my endo, I suggest you do the same.
