Hi Mandy72,

Unfortunately stomach issues can also become one of the symptoms of hypo. It might be due to low acid rather than high, as our acid is extremely important in order to dissolve protein in particular as well as food in general.

The symptoms of low acid and high acid are so similar and many get prescribed PPIs which do have their place if we have high acid but not low. I myself take Betaine/pepsin tablets (the prescription GP gave me caused severe pain) but I'm fine on betaine. Also I sometimes take Apple Cider Vinegar and the 'raw' type is best. I am sorry you are housebound and hope you feel better quite soon.

It is because of hypothyroidism, everything slows down. If you've not had your Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate tested recently ask for new ones.

If you have one for your thyroid, get the earliest appointment and leave approx 24 hours between taking levo and the blood test.

P.S many don't like the taste of ACV and take it in juice. You only need two or 3 teaspoons. You can take it throughout the meal.

So sorry to hear this Mandy. Are all your vitamins and mineral level good. Such poor quality Levothyroxine around at the moment you could be undertreated even if your blood levels were good. Wish you well.

im getting blood results tomorrow but wont be for vits dr wont check unless really needed but im going to get printer sorted and print off what needs checking and the ranges they should be at , im on nature throid 2 1/2 grain

I'm glad you are on nature throid and your dose is quite reasonable. If you are still not feeling 100% you can increase by 1/4 tablet wait two weeks and increase again by 1/4. If you have a copy of your most recent blood test results, with the ranges, post them on a new question for comments.

Is your appointment as early as possible. Don't take NDT until after your blood test.

had bloods done last week, didnt take NDT in the morning and had it as a fasting blood as glucose was being done, dr said it wasnt a fasting dose

i increased my dosage a few days ago by 1/2 grain but have to take it on its own as my heart gets too racey if i take more than a grain at once, so far im doing well taking in 3 doses, 1 grain 6am, 1 grain 2pm and 1/2 grain about 9pm

Different methods suit different people. As long as your heart doesn't speed up too much and you feel much better. You are taking the equivalent if 250mcg of levo, taking into account 'the effect' of T3 in NDT.

dr has just increased me to 3 grains as TSH 11 i think from looking at graph

i forgot to ask for print out so will call tomorrow

but as i suspected he said everything else is fine

as soon as i get a copy ill post

in a way im glad i decided to see this dr as the other one i was seeing never rose my levo above 75mcg

You definitely need it increased. 11 is too high. Dr Lowe took 150mcg of T3 in the middle of the night. He had thyroid hormone resistance.
