Hi. I was wondering what you think about these results on my last blood test
TSH 3,2,
FT4 16,3.
Ferritin 38,
iron 8,6.
My doc says it's O, but I feel S..t always tired 😴 and can't handle the day like I should. The couch and my bed is my best friend.
What ya all think ? Should I ask for more tests and maybe get a specialist to look at the results. I'm takin 100 mikrogram thyroxine a day. And still got this result

I assume you are hypothyroid as you are taking 100mcg levothyroxine. When were you diagnosed? You must obviously be having symptoms as your TSH is too high for you to feel well. Go back to your GP and tell him you want more levo in order to bring your TSH to around 1 or below. He is obviously another doctor who believes that just to have our TSH within 'range' is o.k. It's not if we still feel unwell.
Your TSH is heading upwards but it would be helpful if you could put the ranges to your blood tests as well as the result. Labs use different machines and therefore the ranges are different too. What symptoms do you have.
Thanks.
It would be helpful if you wrote down the ref ranges so we can see where in the range you are. This is because different ranges are used from one hospital to another
I think you are undermedicated and need a dose increase. TSH of people on medication is usually comfortable just above or below 1.0. Scroll down to Guidelines and Treatment Options to read Dr. A. Ferritin 38 is low. Halfway through range is optimal. Supplement Ferrous Fumararte and take each iron tablet with 500mg-1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and mitigate constipation. Retest in 6 months and stop supplemeting a week or two prior to the test.
Ask your GP to test vitamin D, B12 and folate as hypothyroid patients are often deficient/low and these deficiencies can cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms. Post your results with the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after your results) in a new question and members will advise whether supplementation is required.
