The most recent journal edition of Thyroid has the following:

Potential Risks of Excess Iodine Ingestion and Exposure: Statement by the American Thyroid Association Public Health Committee

Angela M. Leung, Anca M. Avram, Alina V. Brenner, Leonidas H. Duntas, Joel Ehrenkranz, James V. Hennessey, Stephanie L. Lee, Elizabeth N. Pearce, Sanziana A. Roman, Alex Stagnaro-Green, Erich M. Sturgis, Krishnamurthi Sundaram, Michael J. Thomas, and Jason A. Wexler

Thyroid, Vol. 25, No. 2, February 2015: 145-146.

I think this should be archived at TUK to answer those people who believe that iodine ingestion can be done without careful supervision, and lays down the dangers of over dosing.

Hi Diogenes,

What a coincidence! I am, at this moment, writing an article on Iodine for our website! I can't access the article in Thyroid. Is it the same as their statement from 2013 - thyroid.org/ata-statement-o... and 2014 - online.liebertpub.com/doi/a... or is it a full article?

It seems to be a full article. I 'll get Rudolf to forward it on if you can't get access.
