When I read on the Internet how to take probiotics it's really confusing. Some say on an empty stomach, some before a meal and others with food! Does anyone know which is correct. I think it's all about stomach acid and not letting it destroy the good bacteria in the probiotics??

Hi Neeta, you need to take them on an empty stomach and drink plenty of water with them. So, at least 30 mins before food or 2 hours after. Otherwise they lose potency as the stomach acid destroys most probiotics. There are some hardier strains that survive, but most don't. I know that there is conflicting advice, which is very confusing, but this is what I was told by my functional medicine doctor and it is working well for me. I take mine first thing in the morning with my thyroid medicines, about 40 mins before breakfast. x
