Hoping for a bit of advice. Both my mother and I have Hashimotos. My daughter is 21 and has always struggled to get up in the morning (not just in a teenage way!) and more recently has been suffering with hair loss and poor skin. GP did a thyroid function test which was normal. My daughter didn't ask for the full results. Having spoken to my sympathetic Endo he suggested she go back to her GP and have more specific thyroid tests but I can't remember the name of them! I want to send her armed with the right words and questions to hopefully get to the bottom of her symptoms.Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you!

This is a list from Thyroiduk.org. GP may not do all of them but you can
ask. Also ask for Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, iron, ferritin and folate too.
Always get a copy of the blood tests from the surgery, with the ranges, as it makes it easier for members to comment. 'Normal' with regard to thyroid hormones makes me wary as some of us don't have a TSH level which rises too much and if there is all those family members with the a thyroid condition, it is quite likely that she too could have one too. She must also have an antibodies check. If she has antibodies she has hashimotos too.
