Similar symptoms here and more.

Currently getting further bloods done.

I am interested to know if lots of other thyroid issue peeps suffer these things too.

X

Hi jellynpain,

Yes, I have the same issues although the tinnitus comes and goes. Eyes are driving me crazy too! Feel like I can barely see in the mornings!

Hope your bloods come back with some answers.

Hi I am no expert but I know from personal experience that tinnitus can be a sympton of B12 deficiency which can be caused by other auto immune diseases such as hypothyroidism. Maybe worth getting a blood test done?

Fion, If you post your recent thyroid blood results with the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after your results) and say what dose and medication you are taking members will advise whether you are optimally medicated.

Ask your GP to test B12 and folate as tingling can be a sign of B12 deficiency.

Hi Fion,

I've had similar symptoms inc pins & needles, floaters as well as cold & tired. GP ordered further blood test as last TFT was normal 3 weeks ago. Locum said I was deficient in vit D & prescribed supplements as well as lowering Levo from alt 175/150mcg to 125mcg as TSH low & T4 high. (Sorry don't have results, only found this site after last visit to docs). No improvement yet but not been a week yet.

Def worth u getting tested for vitamin deficiencies etc.

Good luck.

Sas ;)

Tinnitus is definitely a symptom. If I take enough thyroxine it goes away. However I did read a post here once from a person who reckoned it was a side effect of taking thyroxine!

Vits B12 and D could defiantely be the culprits, but check out your magnesium, too. If that is low it will have an effect on your eyes and ears.

If you get flashing lights with your floats then get an appointment with an ophthalmologist. That can lead to something more serious. Look up posterior vitreous detachment. I've had this problem in both eyes but been ok each time but it needs to be checked out. My local hospital has an eye casualty who gave me a quick once over but then had me back for a more detailed look. Don't drive there as they may want to put drops in your eyes.

Sounds like pernicious anaemia
