Maybe not dodgy, but certainly annoying!

I won’t name the company as it may not be allowed? Anyway, they reckon they are the UK representative for iHerb, which ships from America. I now think that may not be true.

I ordered B Complex from them, and it arrived promptly. One month later, and apparently I had signed up for a monthly subscription! I did no such thing, and the email they sent only had a link to delay my next delivery. In order to cancel the subscription I had to go to their website, log in, find the (well-hidden) box to cancel subscription, then go from page to page to page telling them that yes, I really did want to cancel.

I thought that was the end of it and logged out, but up popped my name again, logged back in. Each time I logged out the same thing happened. Eventually I closed down my device so I could log out completely. Unfortunately the window was still open on my device and as I went to close it, you’ve guessed it, I was logged back in!

I’m just posting this as a warning to others, and I will certainly not be ordering from them again. I will name the company in the replies if I’m allowed. Sorry for the rant, and thanks for reading.

Hmmm, I've not had this issue with iHerb so certainly sounds odd?

I don't think there is an issue with iHerb themselves.

They do offer subscriptions - Autoship & Save:

But quite clear.

I'm afraid I see subscriptions as them imposing a charge on me if I do NOT subscribe. Rather than a discount for subscribing. And I avoid them like the plague. The more they are pushed, the less likely I am to deal with the company at all.

Yes I agree with tying people into subscriptions which they often forget about until it's too late, dealing with iHerb direct is very straight forward with good prices and they do make a donation to Thyroid UK with every order if signed up with Easyfundraising

Exactly! The more I feel pressured into buying something, the less likely I am to actually buy it!

Would you please send me - or other admins - the name of the company and a link?

I'd noticed elsewhere that iHerb are categorically saying that no-one represents them or sells their products. That suggests to me they are aware of people making it look as if they supply iHerb products - but are nothing to do with iHerb.

The link for UK iHerb ordering is uk.iherb.com/

(For information - not recommending or criticising them.)

The company you sent me appears to be one that has quite a bit of feedback about issues such as unexpectedly finding yourself having subscribed to a product. They have a 6% critical review rate at a large review site.

I have requested a cancellation of subscription (which I was not wittingly aware of,ie. why subscribe to something I’ve never tried before)??

AND

I received an email yesterday telling me my ‘subscription’ was due. I did not sign up for any subscription and on reading previous reviews other people have had this experience. They have emailed me back to say they’ve cancelled it so I hope that is the end of the matter but beware if you order from them.

I think the company is, basically, OK but has some questionable practices and incompetence. However, it is difficult. If they were outright scammers, yes, I'd post their name.

And I cannot find their company registration number on their site. It might be there, but I couldn't find it and it should be trivially easy to find.

The company name you supplied appears to be a trading name of their other company which has been around for a number of years. Indeed, it was hard work finding the name of the company which owns that site. A definite red flag.

The iHerb app is good, makes ordering easy. My last order took just 9 days to arrive.

I’ve used Biovea which stocks similar items to iHerb without any trouble several times. They ship from Europe. I looked at iHerb reviews on Trustpilot & decided against using them.
