How is Health Unlocked funded? I would like to contribute...

I have learned more in my short time as a member of this site than I could have imagined possible. Particularly from Thyroid UK and the Lung Association. Priceless! I don't have a lot of spare money, but I was thinking a small monthly contribution by Standing Order would work for me. How can I do that?

Thyroiduk.org was/is the instrumental point for assisting/helping/advising people who had thyroid gland dysfunctions and not getting anywhere with the usual NHS Channels. That's how I've recovered.

Since HU came on the scene it has enabled members to 'talk' to one another and ask for help/advice which is a great advantage.

It is good to be a paid up member of Thyroiduk as we get quarterly newsletters etc and we had a great Conference a couple of weeks ago. If you are housebound that may prove a difficulty but I believe they are going to put webinars about the Conference with the great Speakers we had.

Thanks shaws. I am only housebound when I have a bad exacerbation which is not so often these days. I am awaiting cateract surgery... Eyes are getting worse by the minute. It is the glare while driving which bothers me the most. It shouldn't be long now as I was measured for lenses last Saturday.

hi there daisy , im so glad that yet another has recognised the invaluable help/empathy/understanding and above all else advise that can be gained from this site .......1 way to help this --OUR-- site , which is a registered charity is to collect change [ odd coppers ,silver etc.] which I do ---- I also request a donation from visitors when they have a hot/cold drink & biccys ..... everyone has been happy to do it .......so far I have paid about £100 into tuk's bank [ together with arrainging for a collection box in my local sub-postoffice /shop ] .....I feel strongly on this matter as this is a small charity that really, dearly needs to be kept going and my lady would be in a far worse place without it -----not forgetting me or our little one ---- lastly but not least WELCOME TO THE SITE ..........alan xxx

Thanks Alan. It has been brilliant for me too. My doctor asked me if I was "medical* recently! I had a career in corporate communications and fundraising in what seems a past life now, so I will do some more when I can see again!!!
