My eGFR non African American blood test was low at 44 but the creatinene and BUN was normal. I need to know if I need to see a doctor about kidney disease. I am 70 y.o. female. Only about 5 months ago the eGFR was 55 so it has changed that much. My thyroid gland is disappearing and I am on .88mg Synthroid. Thank you.

Podgy, I think you should see a doctor as your results, if USA values are the same as UK values, indicate loss of kidney function or disease which may need managing.
HI It could be worse. What is the rest of your kidney function, U`s and E`s?It should also give you kidney function level. Stage 2 is oK but needs a Nephrologist.
