Has anyone managed to successfully control their hypothyroidism by diet?

Thyroid control with diet
No. Not without thyroid replacement. That's kind of like asking if someone with only one leg can run a marathon without a prosthetic leg........LOL! Good diet sure helps to make the thyroxine and liothyronine work properly but it won't make something work that doesn't. Alas. I wish it would.
I suppose if the ONLY reason for the problem was one of these:
1. poor conversion because of low ferritin, B12, folate, selenium etc
2. iodine deficiency
3. poor conversion because of gut problems
it might be possible to get better using diet alone.
yes I have managed my thyroid by diet. Don't eat processed food and eat a lot of veggies. Excessive and eat lots of protien.
No, you can't control it with diet alone, you need replacement hormones.
Paleo diet! it got my antithyroid antibodies to negative levels! and in the meantime I lost 7kg and I enjoy eating again! but don't do it very low carb
