Why are my legs, shins and muscles so sore. Is this thyroid related? I am on t3t4 combo and improved but not 100 per cent yet. Does medication disturb sleep pattern? Thank you for your comments.

Sore sore legs
Thyr0id, ask your GP to check ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate. Hypothyroid patients are often deficient/low in these and low/deficient ferritin and vitamin D, in particular, can cause musculoskeletal pain and soreness.
Not got pretibial myexodema have you..... This Is related to thyroid.. google it for pictures.

I am T4 and T3 and a few weeks ago I was sore from the knees downwards. It hurt to have the bedclothes on the bottom half of my legs. I started to have heart fluctuations after this and I reduced my T4 from 100 to 50 and the aches have gone and the heart fluctuations have stopped, I am now interpreting this a sign I am about to go overactive and I need to reduce meds. I was willing to reduce t3 but a reduction in T4 seems to have worked. Back up to 100 thyroxine again because I did not feel quite right. Back to normal again.
I would check VitD levels.... I live in the Med but still hubby and I tested insufficient and are on capsules Had Erythema Nodosa - painful lumps in my shins in my 20's - couldn't walk. Diagnosed Hypo in 2005 - over 40 years later. Now I read it is a symptom of being Hypo.... Blamed it all on being a hockey player at school and not wearing shin pads
Hi I have had a muscle pain problem with my legs, was taking magnesium and calcium I went to an independent health food store and they recommended I continue with calcium and magnesium but take a high potency magnesium citrate as well it has been a couple of weeks and pain isn't so bad. I think it must take a while for the minerals to reach the right level and I can cut down. hope you solve your problem.
