N.ireland endo who prescribes NDT

Hi

I've just joined the forum

I asked my gp for a referral to the endo because I wanted to be prescribed Armour. The endo won't see me as he's feels the evidence for armour is not robust.

I'd pay for a private appointment to see a sympathetic endo in N.ireland or even in Donegal if anyone knows of one.

Ps I've been taken thyroxine for nearly 15 years and my cholesterol is also high, due to the meds. Concerned about continuing with this drug and it's effect on my body

We have a couple of Private GPs in ROI, but no details of any Endos in NI or ROI I'm afraid.

I also live in N Ireland and have same problem high cholesterol ,unwell on levothyroxine and very tired ,T 3 was very low but doctor didn't seen to understand why I got so ill when I up my levo , and put on waiting list for endo at hospital which has long waiting list so ordered nature thyroid myself and starting on low dose and will see how it goes for me ,

I have just come across your post - I live in Northern Ireland and have been unwell also on thyroxine and would love to try some other medication - in the past I have seen 2 endos but they did not prescribe anything other than thyroxine and said my blood tests were perfectly fine on thyroxine so it must be something else making me feel ill. My worry also is the high cholesterol. Were you able to find someone in Northern Ireland or Donegal who can prescribe?
