Hi everyone. I have been displaying the typical symptoms of an under active thyriod so my GP decided to take some bloods. They are as follows Serum Free T4 level : 11
Serum TSH level: 1.45
I know different labs have different levels, according to thyriod uk website my T4 level is on the boarder. Their level is 11 to 25.
According to the levels where I was tested I'm fine but I don't feel it at all,
Any advice xx

Your FT4 is low and may mean you are struggling to convert FT3. NHS is unlikely to test for FT3 as your TSH is in range and at a level unlikely to give most people problems.
You can order private blood tests for FT3 and rT3 from Blue Horizon and Genova on thyroiduk.org
Deficient and low in range ferritin, vitaminD, B12 and folate can cause symptoms very similar to hypothyroidism and it may be worth asking your GP to check your levels. If any are deficient you ought to be prescribed supplements but if they are low in range you will have to buy your own supplements.
Always have your thyroid gland blood tests at the earliest time in the morning and, when you take levothyroxine, do not take meds until afterwards. Always get a print-out of your blood tests for your own records with the ranges so that you can post them if necessary.
Thanks both. I have had all my other bloods taken and they all came back fine. I've made an appointment with a dr next week to follow them up I just don't know what to say as I am struggling so much x
Hi, I'm also quite new to all of this but had to reply as my results were simular to yours with lots of hypo symptoms. My tsh was 0.79 and Ft4 was 11.7 (12-24). My gp was a little reluctant to do anything but then decided to refer me to an endocrinologist as low Ft4 and low/normal tsh can sometimes indicate a pituitary problem ! Check out stop the thyroid madness for more info or google central hypothyroidism or hypo-pituitary ! I have my appt with the endo on the 10th June (last appt was cancelled :-/). I would remind your gp of your symptoms and suggest hypopituitary ! Let us know how you get on ! X
