I would like to get a referral from my dr to a NHS endocrinologist so they will prescribe me T3 instead of sourcing it on the internet. Does anyone know a sympathetic one in the South West??

Have you emailed louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org in case she has one on her list?
Not all endocrinologists will prescribe T3. You might want to write to endo's secretaries to check out whether they prescribe T3 prior to booking an appointment.
And if they do prescribe it, they may only do so for cancer patients. My endo made me wait well over a year before he would okay it (during which time he would not discuss it), and that was only after another doc had given it to me.
Of course he then acted like it was all his idea.
Keep in mind that the endo may not have any role in prescribing except to recommend that your gp prescribe it for you. In my case, my gp refused on grounds of cost and endo said it was not practical for him to prescribe, so unless I had my own source I was stuffed anyway.
Thanks for responses - just what i thought!!
