Hi Louise,

Thank you for taking the time to reply, unfortunately I did not get any replies, so obviously there has not been anyone who has attended this particular clinic but I just thought I would ask on the off chance.

I will let you know how I get on......I have been hypo for 14 years but over that time I have suffered with all over muscle and joint pain which has worsened over the past 5 years but was always just told it is just you arthritis. ( I have osteoarthritis)

And cannot tolerate strong pain killers so have just muddled along with paracetamol but it has got really bad now and I am sure that the Levothyroxine I take is playing a part in this, so in desperation to try and find out if it was at least contributing to the pain in some way I took the decision to stop my Levo for

4 weeks and my pain did lessen quite a bit so I went back to my GP and told her what I had done, because I was always told ....the pain has nothing to do with your Thyroid Or the Levo your results are coming back normal, so at last she decided to refer Me to a Rheumatologist to see what they think.

I know it was not ideal to stop my thyroid medication, and was off it for six week by the time I was retested and my results were very bad, but I have been started back on a smaller dose and been on 50mcg for six weeks now, there has been some improvement in my results but they are still coming back marked as ABNORMAL but have been kept on 50 for another 4 weeks, so at least it had the effect of my GP taking a bit more interest in what might be another option for me apart from physio which just made the pain much worse

Sorry for the big long post, but I thought I should give you a bit more info on my situation since you were good enough to reply to my post and wish me luck with my appointment

Regards
