I'm trying to find some information to help Edysia and I from anyone who takes WP Thyroid. Edysia has been Hypothyroid for two years and has been on Erfa thyroid for the last 18 months. A recent change made by Erfa in the manufacture of the tablets has made these tablets unusable. She ordered WP Thyroid and is concerned that she isn't feeling a 'kick' from it, on Erfa she would actually physically feel the kick from the T3 but with WP, although it seems in a weird way to be making a slight difference she can't really feel much benefit, still constantly fatigued. Can I ask if anyone has experience of WP and what you tried before that? How did it compare to your previous brand? Do you feel any kick from the T3? Any information you can give us would be really appreciated.

WP is hypoallergenic, so I doubt you would have a 'kick' re the T3. Maybe Edysia should raise it slightly. I haven't taken WP but understand it is the 'purest' but have used Naturethroid, Erfa plus two other NDT's and didn't experience any affect shortly after taking the medication. For me (I think Edysia also tried Naturethroid) Naturethroid was the best as it gave me normal health. Some people feel their heart rate rise slightly after NDT's but there's no need for concern unless you are frail:-
These are a couple of links and I don't know if they will be helpful or not but I do know of the struggle Edysia has had.
Thank you so much for your reply shaws it's very helpful, do you know how the hypoallergenic aspect alters the 'delivery' of the T3 or the 'kick' sensation? ...or if it does? Edysia isn't giving up on WP yet, this is the third week and she says herself that she has to give it more time. Thank you for the links too, i'll look into them now, i'm sure they'll be helpful.

I used to get the horrible jolt from t3 when I used synthetic, Since I changed over to NDT, its all been much much smoother. I get up in the morning and feel ready to start the day, I do whatever I need to do for work, then at bedtime I am tired, so I take my meds and go to sleep. I never get a kick from the meds I just function like a normal person. Its great. I am on thiroyd from Thailand, but have been the same on Naturethroid. Thyroid s and erfa both made me feel hypo, as in tired and cold and slow , but I understand both are formulated to have a longer shelf life. Maybe she needs to change brands?
I'd have thought that a 'kick' is undesirable anyway - if you're sufficiently medicated, you shouldn't notice any difference. It sounds to me like she's not taking enough, hence the continuing fatigue.
