After cancer 4 weeks in hard to move neck and I... - Thyroid UK
After cancer 4 weeks in hard to move neck and I have very bad fatigue. How can get my butt up and back to a normal life my tsh levels 33
Your tsh is 33? Do you mean 3.3?
Even 3.3 is too high for most people !! No wonder you're tired call your doctor and make an appointment
You have had a mental and physical shock so take it easy. Yes have a chat to your doctor, may be an increase of meds is needed so make that appointment! Hope you soon start to feel better and things start to settle down soon
when you say that your bloods look 'normal' ----what are the FULL results [ with ranges ] --because all tests need to be run together to give a proper profile of your health ==== and it is important so you could be treated to the optimum level .....alan
Hi there I DO NOT HAVE THYROID ISSUES but many health issues and I would say your body is letting you know you are unwell, dont have hight expectations as silverfox said you have had a mental and physical shock, you need LOTS of rest. At my worst I could sleep up to 18 hours a day. wishing you well
If you can afford it massage accupunture , stanum ointment and may be berberious ointment.
To rub in where it hurts.
Welleda stock these.
Only apply the berberious a little at a time as it may draw the inflammation. Stanum is a pain killer.
Try ginseng. Rest.
I've been down with Lyme Carditis since August.
My Lyme Consultant sent me back to get my GP to reference me to a cardiologist. 2 cardiologists. They should of put me on intravenous antibiotics.
They have not a clue.
If u can afford it intravenous and oral supplements may also help.
Breakspear Hospital cost.
But it's worth it. They do have over night in a big house some distance away from the hospital.
Cheaper than a hotel.
So if you can stay a while and get
Interventions supplements. It's the nearest you will get to convalescence. There's no nursing in the house it pretty basic u can bring someone with u.
I can't afford it. But I suppose I am going to have to. As the NHS
Seems to have no brain.
You need to be bed bound before you get help.

You need to get a full thyroid function test. Ask your GP for this and it should include T3 and T4. Your TSH is too high at 33.
Always get copies of your blood tests from the surgery with the ranges (figures in brackets) and post them on a new question for more comments. You have to get enough medication, gradually, to bring your TSH down, but the T4 and T3 are important too, T3 in particular although many labs wont do this if TSH is 'in range'.
I would echo the suggestion of massage, bowen or reflexology to make you feel a little better. Acupuncture is not quite so nice on the couch but can be helpful. (They say that acupuncutre is painless but when they hit a nerve.....ouch!)
Don't be hard on yourself; it is amazing how we metaphorically beat ourselves up when our bodies fail - not helpful. You are precious and you need to acknowledge this on every level.
Wishing well.
It's a nice judgement as to how much of your exhaustion is post-op and how much is thyroid related. You had your thyroid removed, perhaps? Surgery takes time to get over, as others have said. How long were you signed off for/ did they say it would take you to get over the op? Be good to yourself while you convalesce. Even better - get someone else to be good to and for you!
You have obviously had some post-op blood work. And your TSH of 33 surprises all of us here. It is worrying that it didn't surprise your doctor/surgeon/consultant. Perhaps they are waiting for it to 'settle down'. Experiences on here suggest that they are prepared to wait for a very long time for that to happen. So make an appointment. Take someone with you if you possibly can. And have what you want to say jotted down beforehand. Medicos are very good at sweeping one's concerns aside and before you know it you're outside the door with nothing sorted out.
I hope you feel better very soon.
