The cause of my T3 problem is genetic. I have been hypo for 15 years and remained undiagnosed and untreated for the duration. I am now in very poor health.

I am new to the forum. Can some body recommend an endocrinologist in Edinburgh/ Scotland ? I have been diagnosed with low T3 Syndrome
I am sorry you have been ill for such a long time. I suspect they never did a T3 blood test but, if you had a thyroid gland one, they only did the TSH.
If you email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org she may have the name of someone in Scotland. Also, members who live in Scotland may have the name of a helpful one and will send you a private message.

Thank you so much for responding; I will contact Louise Wavrill for more information. I would be delighted to hear from any Scottish members about their experience / treatment and about who was instrumental in their recovery. I watched the petition committee meeting using the link provided on the website and found myself in tears listening to the heart rending stories of both petitioners ( if possible I would like to connect with them). Endocrinology seems to be the twilight zone of medicine (that's the polite way of putting it) and I still find it difficult to take in how badly treated I've been treated throughout by both gps and consultants - the words supervised neglect come to mind . I imagine this is an all too familiar story. This illness has been a lonely road for me and I am grateful to have this resource. Thank you.
