Hi, I live in Grampian and like you I got nowhere with the NHS. After a recommendation I went to see Professor Chew at the London Clinic. He was very good and sympathetic to my cause. I am still waiting on my final results as he did a barrage of tests, but I can highly recommend him if you're prepared to travel to London

Goodness, that's a hell of a price to pay out because of useless quacks. My local hospital is the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but could never get a consult there as our stupid GPs are TSH only types! I self medicate and buy my T3 from Mexico, but it would be wonderful to be able to talk to a responsible medic about the problem. Thank you for recommending Prof Chew (I used to work at the London Clinic in the labs & know the quality of their work) and next time I visit my sister in Essex I'll try and get an appt. What were the charges for the tests? I approached the Albyn in Aberdeen and their prices were a bit steep AND still they wanted a GP request. I'd asked for one from my quack and he refused - nice!

What IS it with these docs that they don't want their patients to be healthy?

I would travel to see someone if it was going to improve my life. What tests did you get and can you tell me the costs? If you don't mind me asking. Thanks

Hi Blue 2 & SC 23, I still had to get a GP referral to get an appointment with Prof Chew. I'm lucky , in that I have private health but going by my bills it would have cost approx £1,000. That's not to say you'd be that, as I have a family history of auto immune disease, so think Prof Chew was giving me a full MOT. I was told GP's don't take patients like us seriously as it takes too much time & cost to treat us & the NHS has neither!!
