You don't mention your result or the dose you are taking. The general advice is to start slow and low.... What are the strange effects ? If you are feeling dizzy it might be a good idea to have calcium checked as D improves the production of calcium and too much is not good !

The above demonstrates how much to take to reach an optimal level. Remember to divide your result by 2.5 to match the figures on the chart in the top right hand corner.

....for more information. You could also type VitD into the Search Box on the Green Bar above ....lots to read and learn.

Hi thanks for the reply.

I was told years ago that for some reason my body is not digesting calcium but my blood levels were fine. I had a total thyroid removal way back in 1999 and have not been well since. I went to a professor of neurology last year , he diagnosed CFS but he said my Vit d levels were low. I also have a lot body temperature though out the day. He said being low on Vit d can cause all what I have been complaining of. I have recently consultant with a Dr to go onto the wilsons thyroid protocol. Ahh yes I was told way back that I have a lot of reverse T3 in my body and more than likely suffering with RT3. hence the wilsons thing may do the trick. I have noticed in this long time that by Thyroxin is doesn't seem to be being absorbed. I get all the good things that come with hypo Thyroid, cramp, CFS sore wrists weight gain etc. The pure sustained t3 has help a lot but I restarted my Vit d at the weekend, well!! its like taking rocket fuel. I feel 3000% better and lots of energy. but my head is spinning, I feel hungry all the time. My brain is going at 10x faster than it was before. This all lasts until around 5 pm when I start to run down until I take my second dose at 715 and I am normal now until I go to bed..

I was complaining that my asthma was out of control it felt like my bronchia was on fire and closing up and a bloating in the stomach..

Its a lot better today by a long chalk and I feel a lot of energy coming through. Its been a long long time that I have felt ill and now I feel a lot better. I cannot stop going for a pee, is this normal.?

What is the Vit d doing to make me feel like this.

any help would be appreciated.

Yours

John C

Sorry John - I asked what your test result was and what dose you are on :-) Did you read the websites I posted. Maybe there are answers to your many questions there. Also D and B12 etc improve the conversion of T4 to T3 - so that could be happening.

Hope for Hashimotos - by Dr Alexander Haskell is a good read if even if you do not have Hashimotos. So many basic things explained well to do with the workings of the thyroid and the supplements.

Yes I am on D3 also and my gp put me on 20,000 iU three times a week for 3 months. Just had blood test after three months and waiting for results. Gp said would probably go down to 1000 iU a day. I have been ok on them no side effects. But I'm still tired with no energy and hurt all over, also still getting severe sweats and headaches. Had a ultrasound and they say I have heterogenous echotexture with cists which liken to Autoimune thyroiditis I hope something's done and I start to feel better. Hope you feel better soon. If your getting strange side effects speak to your doctor.

I have extreme nausea and headaches on some forms of D3 but not others. Docs are aware that people can have these problems and should be willing to try you on different formulations. I think with me, it's sometimes the colourings they use in the tablets. I'm perfectly fine on colourless D3 tabs I import from ProHealth in the US.

And yes, vit D can make you pee a lot!

Wow is that true vit D makes you pee a lot. I currently have injections every 3 months. I am now due my second one but have found I have gained a stone since I had my first injection and I pee all the time... I went to docs as I'm up 3/4 times in the night and it's getting me down, what with the restless legs kicking thing going on as well. turns out I have blood in urine, no infection so now having all sorts of scans done. Could this be due to vit d ? I'm currently being injected with 300,000 in one ml of ergo calciferol. doc gave me 10 ! Odd to have such a long supply when others just take a supplement !

Autoimmune diseases most people have low vitiamin D.

Most would be allergic to vitiamins other elements have to be put in place. To then lock them in allergy testing and desensitization. May help.
