I just had mine done.....what is he on. He may have to specify he wants it done but I just had mine done.....My doc had to make a point of it at the lab tho.

Hahahahah! NHS?

When I asked my doctor he said there was no longer an option to choose it on his computer as the local labs wouldn't do it, can imagine the powers above him have said no more t3 testing, grrrrr

What happens if you're on t3, t3+t4 or ndt? Okay, latter not likely :-) but what about the others? I'm so fed up of this kind of thing and it makes me so cross, I'm sure I'd be better off just ignoring it and getting private tests.

Well, if we didn't have T3 we would be dead as T3 is required by our bodies to function well and T4 is supposed to convert to enough.

If there is no option on computer the doctor will have to write it in pen!

The lab will test for it if they are convinced it is needed.

My GP always writes 'T3 and T4' in big letters underlined. If she doesn't underline it I do!

You should take him to task for lying to you.

Change your doctor immediately. .He is rubbish and shouldn't be allowed in the surgery

Even when my GP requests t3and t4 the labs ignore it if tsh in range. The blood nurse addef Graves Diseaseand it was tested!

I am still waiting for his letter of referal to see a Thyroid specialist,It's a week now, I will have to see another doctor to see if they will help, he's obviously not going to. I am going to complain to the GMC about him.

Absolutely. He has told you a lie - and one which is so easily exposed it is jaw-dropping. He obviously thinks nothing of his patients' well-being.

I had it done a few months ago, the endocrinologist (NHS) wrote each request down, no boxes to tick on the form.
