Found this little gem - (well it is for me anyway)

"Too high an MCV (Mean Corpuscular Volume) points to hypothyroidism, B12 deficiency or folic acid deficiency, or drinking too much alcohol."

My MCV was 99.3 (in a range of 82 - 104)

Well my B12 was low and I drink too much alcohol. But anyway, this is yet another pointer towards a diagnosis !! x

Me too! My MCV was 96, that's how I managed to persuade the GP to test b12 & cholesterol

Yes! well I got 3 out of 4 as I'm not sure about the folate. Interesting isn't it? What was your cholesterol? I have a glass of wine in my paw right now! xx

Haven't had folate tested, but cholesterol was 5.2, which isn't terrible but higher than I would expect on my usual diet and activity levels. Not started on the wine yet, but have just had to hit the chocs!
