I am wondering if once you have had the tests results if it shows up a problem then where do you go for help and answers? The reason I ask is I had the test done 2 years ago and it showed adrenal problems but my doctor refused to even look at it. Just need some advice on others experiences. Thank you xx

Hello

How absolutely ridiculous!! You pay for a test saving the NHS and he refused to look at it?? My shoot from the hip reaction would be to say change your doctor!!! Lets see what others say. You will get all the help and advice you need on this site XX

Thank you, I must admit I feel so depressed and let down by my gp. I struggle on and only go to see him when absolutely necessary. It took them 5 years to diagnose a thyroid condition then another 2 before I found out it was autoimmune. Thank you xx

I don't think doctors accept the saliva cortisol test. Have you considered making an appointment to see Dr Peatfield? If you can't get to one of his clinics he also does telephone and written consultations and he is happy to accept the results of the Genova tests.

Really omg that would be fantastic. I really do feel I'll. I can't even quote thyroid UK to him as he thinks you shouldn't read stuff on the internet. How do I contact him??? Thank you xx

Hello Rosetrees. Just found your comments on doctors and saliva testing. My GP is now insisting I do a 24 hr urine collection as she is not familiar with Genova and saliva testing! I know my adrenals are producing massive amounts of Cortisol and DHEA, and at some point my Adrenals will give up working I'm sure. Any advice?

Hello Suzy. I don't know anything about the urine test, but if you're GP is willing to do it then I would have it done. If you're right and you are producing too much cortisol and DHEA then it might show up in the test. If you feel the result doesn't reflect what's happening to you, then you can always order the Genova test at a later date. There's a great adrenal group on Facebook if you need help with interpreting results or deciding on treatment. facebook.com/groups/FTPOAdr...

Hello again Rosetrees. Sorry I didn't make my comment clear and I apologise for that. I did have a Comprehensive Saliva Test done by Genova and I have three very high readings of Cortisol and one late afternoon sample which goes far too low. The results certainly reflect my awful sleep patterns. I will of course have the 24 hr urine sample done. I have also gone onto Facebook to join the group you suggested. Thanks so much for your info
