Hi All, Here are my new blood results-I am hoping someone will have a look and help me with any advice. All these labs are done fasting except water, in the morning, no iron for 7 days before, no NDT before the draw.

I am Hypothyroid and have been for a year now. I have been on Armour Thyroid since last July. I currently take 1&1/2 grains per day in two doses-1 grain first thing in the morning (around 8-ish) and then ½ grain at about 2pm. If I go up to 2 grains I feel a bit Hyper-y. I am better than I was a few months ago. I still suffer from fatigue, unrefreshing sleep, cold, shortness of breath on exertion, brain fog, poor memory, dizziness if overtired, frequent sore throat/swollen glands, headaches/migraines, sore muscles/joints/tender points, irritability. A Rheumatologist has diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and the symptoms around this seem to be increasing. I have been using Hydrocortisone Cream for low cortisol but am currently off it to prepare for a new Saliva Test for Adrenals.

My Iron results are-

Serum Ferritin-102.8 (10-200) Previously (10.9/24.4/48.6/48)

Iron-19 (9-32) Previously (16/15)

Transferrin-2.9 (2.0-3.6) Previously (3.2/3.1)

Calculated TIBC-73 (53-95) Previously (80/78)

Transferrin Saturation-26% (19-43) Previously (20%/19%)

I am currently taking 5 ml Ferrous Fumerate-45mg/2x Solgar Gentle Iron-20mg-1000mg Vit C....twice per day-total iron170 mg. I take it away from Thyroid meds and other supplements.

My hormone results-

Total testosterone-less 0.4 nmol (0.0-1.6)

Progesterone-48.7 nmol (5.3-86)

Oestradiol-396pmol (161-774)

I am 54 and still have regular periods, although I have had some spotting between the last ones. These are the first blood hormone levels that I have had done-Blood taken on day 21 of cycle (Luteal phase ranges).

Other Blood Results-

Sodium-139 (136-145) Previously (142)

Potassium-4.1 (3.3-5.1) Previously (4.1)

Magnesium-0.87 (0.65-1.05)

Calcium-2.45 (2.15-2.55)

Vit D-80 Previously (125) I had stopped supplementing

Serum Vit B12-667 (187-883) Previously (918/442/542/788/1097)

Serum Folate-17.7 (3-17) Previously (14.3/20+/20+/20+/18.3)

My Thyroid Results-

TSH-less 0.02 (0.27-4.20) Previously (0.02/0.02/2.65/9.08/4.42/3.11/3.69/1.45/0.02/0.02/0.09/0.02)

FT4-14.1 (10.5-22) Previously (40.2/17.5/7.8/9.0/11.5/14.1/14.1/10.8/15.8/11.3/18)

No FT3-will send for this with Saliva Cortisol .

I am also taking Solgar Megasorb B Vit Complex 1x (contains 400ug Folic Acid), Selenium 200ug 1x, Udo’s Choice Probiotics 2x, Solgar Magnesium Citrate 2x, Solgar Vit B12 10000ug 1x, and Liquid Vit D32500 iu.

Someone will comment on your blood test. These are links re fibromyalgia for information:-

Any links within these may not work as Dr Lowe died two years ago and his website is archived.

I think you may not be on optimum medication yet.

Maybe a bit obvious but, if 2 grains tips you towards feeling hyper, have you tried 1.75 grains for a couple of weeks and then increase to 2 grains if your symptoms continue?

Your vitD is slipping, why not supplement until summer?

I think it is possible that your FT3 that was not tested will be LOW. This seems to be the case with fibro - myself included - when I was first diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2005. Have you had your thyroid anti-bodies tested ? Anti-TPO and Anti-Tg. It seems from reading and learning that Fibro follows the auto-immune component in health. Hashimotos is auto-immune. It's also the most common Thyroid condition....

I would insist on the anti-bodies being tested. You say you were diagnosed Hypo a year ago - it could be that you have been Hypo for very much longer and therefore it may take longer to recover. Again with the auto-immune illness of the thyroid you can be symptomless for up to 10 years - but the damage is going on in your body. Just read that last night :-)

Thanks Shaws & Clutter. Marz-I have been reading the same about the auto-immune component & I know I wasnt well long before I was diagnosed. At the start of this about a year ago I was Hyper for about 2 months before going Hypo. My thyroid antibodies tests-anti TPO Abs tested 4x over the last year here in Ireland-always less than 1 (range 0-35) & tested once by Genova labs UK-less than 10 (range 0-30) & TgAb with Genova-less than 20 (range 0-35).....
