About Levothyroxine medicine.
For accuracy, I believe that no UK levothyroxine product is coated. Doesn't mean that the tablets you are taking don't cause you problems, but it does mean that the person who told you is not exactly well informed.
Information about all UK and several non-UK products is available here:

What make of levothyroxine are you now taking?
Rod
Hi Rod thank you for the reply. My doctor put me on Liquid Synthetic T4.It was him who told me that the tablet had a coating.I was just getting on top with Eltroxin. As i,m typing this message to you my arms feel swollen,my knees are aching and my stomach looks like i,m 20 months pregnant.I am a postwoman and is struggling at work now.max
curlycurly am getting similar side effects. Having been on t3 only for 7 months last year due to not being able to tolerate any brand of t4 tablets, I started on liquid t4 at end December. Within 2 days ankle joints, feet and lower back really painful - hobbling. Within 3 weeks fingers feel swollen, arms painful and hair has started falling out in great quantity. Oh and abdomen hard and swollen so look 7 months pregnant. Definitely due to the Liquid t4.
Thanks Lolajone for getting back in touch. As i,m typing this reply my fingers are swelling up and my arms feel tight.Im seriously considering going up the hospital tonight but worried ill be wasting their time.I don,t know what to do.Max
Hi Max do you have the Patient Information Leaflet for the liquid t4? Might be worth checking for advice on that?
yes i do and that does say about going to the hospital. But i don,t want to waste their time but i do feel bad.Have like pins and needles now in my hands.
Please don't feel bad about going to the hospital you won't be wasting their time. If you're swelling up it could get serious. Better to be safe than sorry.
