Living in Crete we are given the copies of all blood test results/scans etc for safe-keeping. Many of my friends and acquaintances have had various tests over the years and since I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2005 I have been able to help them understand the results. I am not medically qualified but have done lots of reading and learnt a great deal from this forum. Have also been poorly for over 40 years so have had to learn that way too.
Have seen more than 10 sets of results - some on thyroid treatment and some not. Without exception all the FT3 results were very LOW in the range. This brings me to the next concern. As good levels of Iron B12 VitD and Folates are required for good conversion of T4 into T3 - could it be that due to LOW levels of the aforementioned things are not happening as they should. Or could it be - as Diogenes suggested - that the FT3 testing is at fault and under recording ? Is it worthy of a poll for those of us that have FT3 results ?
This of course also leads me onto diet/assimilation/absorption issues - and the importance of a healthy stomach/gut - my pet love !
Food for thought.......
