Which natural thyroid product is better? Armour... - Thyroid UK
Which natural thyroid product is better? Armour or nature throid?Any recommendations ....cheers
The important thing is not the collective wisdom as to which is better, but which works better for you!
People swear by both products - some prefer one, some the other.
Maybe start with whichever is easier for you to get hold of? Or the one that is cheaper?
I do not take desiccated thyroid - but know someone who does!

I have gone with Armour purley because I had the impression that it was more established and therefor would be easier to get hold of. I may be wrong. I cant tell you which one is better as I have only used Armour.

My daughter has at various times been on Armour, Nature Throid and Erfa at the recommendation of private doctors. She could not get along with any of them, but has done better on T3 alone. NDT's all made her feel very toxic, she lost a lot of hair and they gave her acne. However, some people do very well on them so it's worth trying one of them if you can get hold of some. Each individual is different so I don't think anyone can recommend the replacement suitable for you. Jane x
Hi jane!! Did she get acne on all the ndts and when switching to the t3 only she doesn't get acne now? Which t3 med is she on??
Yes, you should try one and see how it goes. Armour has been very reliable but I've used Erfa as well and both were equally effective. Armour has been around for a hundred years.
I haven't used Armour but several other NDT's. I have found that Naturethroid suits me best as it is hypoallergenic and has never been recalled for inconsistent T4 or T3. It has been produced for 75 years.
The same company has changed the name of its Westhroid NDT to WP thyroid which has only 2 inactive ingredients.
Both of these products are hypoallergenic.
Interesting to hear..
But how do they work for you?
Did you get rid of the tireness?

Naturethroid was the best, for me, that I tried and was very well on it. As the GP wont prescribe NDT I get T3 and luckily I am fine on it usually, unless there is a hiccup in the product (not the liothyronine).
I am taking Armour and am very happy with it, but haven't tried the alternatives. My doctor hadn't heard of the others which is why I went with Armour.
Clarebear,
Have you swallowed Armour, chewed the pills up, or taken them with a supplement like Candex? Since I have read so many conflicting advice on Armour and its use, I feel I need to decide on which drug to take...and Armour is one of the few drugs legally available where I live now. Thanks.
I wanted to ask a question in this context. I have been ordering NP Thyroid from a Swiss pharmacy for the past year, but they just informed me that NP Thyroid is no longer being manufactured in the US...is that true?!
