system until you stabilized. Thanks Jackie for your info. That helped alot. I am trying to understand how this med works. Does it just stop at a certain level if it is not enough?

Hi

I'm sorry you did not have any responses.

Everyone is different and some people feel a difference straight away and others do not.

It is possible that it is related to how long you were ill before you got a diagnosis.

I'm not sure what you mean by it stopping at a certain level.

Perhaps you could post a new question with your latest thyroid blood results, including the ranges, if you need any further help. :)

Hi Yes you will suddenly feel better when the bloods are also right. it may take a year with frequent retests and increases in meds. of course, you can still have blips especially when under stress.

Best wishes,

Jackie

To Louise,

What I mean by stopping at a certain level is does the dose I am on now, which is low, only bring you down so much such as it has already dropped me from 94 to 32 in two weeks, so lets say it brings the tsh down a little more to 15 or so. If it is not enough thyroxine does it then leave you at 15 unless you increase the dose. Also, I have been ill with this for the past eight years but never took any meds because my t3 and t4 stayed normal until now, so I let it go. They told me my t4 would eventually drop and it started to, but now in two weeks again it has normalized. I am so scared because I don't understand all this and I am creating anxiety I do not need. Since my low dose has worked so well in just two weeks, I am afraid that it has stopped working and I am climbing again. So will the low dose help somewhat in the mean time, or stop working if not enough..
