will be having total thyroidectomy on Tuesday, starting to feel a little anxious and a bit worried but I know it has to be done, will let you all know how I get on

It's only natural to feel anxious. Think of the euphoria when it's done and how much better you will feel.

Best wishes for your op. Nervousness is the usual when having an operation.

Good luck Tatty, not surprised you are a bit nervous. I remember writing a will and leaving letters for my children when I went in for a D&C a few days after I had my second child.

I was also fairly awake and able to talk to the anaesthetist so naturally (!) I told everyone that I was very nervous, that I had just had a baby and also had a three year old so I hoped they all knew what they were doing especially with the anaesthetic. How off putting must that have been for them.

We'll all be thinking of you on the day, just think how much better you will feel afterwards.

You'll be absolutely ok , I had mine 6 weeks ago and jumping for joy because the strangling lobes are gone :o)
