Hi. It's been a while but I'm doing ok. I'm on 4.5 grains NatureThroid and not doing too badly but still a little hypo. 5 grains gives me the 'too much T4' symptoms so I am going to replace some of my NatureThroid with T3.
In the meantime, I have been trying to lose some weight. It is very much easier this time than before, probably because I am on better medication (for me, that is). In my first week I have lost 4.5lb. Now, this might seem a lot but most of it will be water and I do have an awful lot of weight to lose!
I am avoiding all cakes, biscuits, sweets and other processed foods where possible. I am eating plenty of fresh veg and sensible amounts of fruit. I am also eating enough healthy, natural fats to make sure I am absorbing enough of the fat-soluble vitamins.
I don't know if I will continue to lose weight or whether it will stall again after a couple of weeks, but it does 'feel' more promising this time around. I do think the addition of T3 will probably make a difference too but we will have to see
The main thing this time around is that I feel better for eating this way whereas last time (and the time before, and the time before that, and...) I actually felt worse! Hopefully this is an indication that my body is working better.
I'll let you know how I get on but it does seem that, for many of us, optimal thyroid treatment is key to losing our 'thyroid' weight.

Today while we were out, I felt I would much rather have had a selection of fruit than the delicious puddings. I did have a pudding but could only eat about half of it! My 'Pudding Space' has shrunk!
Lol. I could try gluten free. It might be just the thing. I'm going to take it one step at a time though.
I'm not eating bread or pasta most days but on the days that I do, I notice that I am a little bloated. As I'm getting used to this, I will have to move to gluten free as well. That only means changing breakfast so shouldn't be too hard
Well done n your weight loss. It is SO hard to lose weight but you are doing the right things so even if you plateau try not to do what I do and get disheartened and pig out.
Good thing about this hot weather is that you don't always feel like eating, although I could probably give up food altogether and just live on cold water and the Cadbury Fruit and Nut Diet!
I had to laugh tonight, I went to Pilates and we had all the doors open to try and get a breeze through, well two ladies appeared in the back door and when our teacher asked why on earth they had come in that way it turned out they had come via the swimming pool next door's chocolate machine. Was I envious or what.
Love the photo, great colours, photography is my hobby too.
Thanks I'm going to reduce to 3 grains and start with 10mcg T3 in the morning (I currently take all my NDT at night and I sleep wonderfully!) I will then increase to 20mcg after a couple of days. This should hopefully be enough but we will see. I think it's going to be a bit of trial and error!
Good luck - I would like to try doing this too, but wary of upsetting the applecart with my endo and GP who are going along with the Armour for now... I look forward to hearing how it goes for you xx
