Sorry I can't read today's results - please could you put the key ones on here? Thanks :)

Sorry Waynester, can't actually read those - picture's too small? Maybe put them on Photobucket with the others and post a link?

Vitamin D looks ok. TSH could do with being a bit lower if you are still experiencing symptoms, although some people find this level is fine for them. Personally, I need my TSH much lower than this to feel well.

If I remember rightly, this is an improvement on your previous TSH?

How are you feeling?

Feeling a tiny bit better

But still suffering from anxiety, fatigue, depression, tingling in my hands

and pretty much all the symptoms I have discussed in previous posts :-(

I couldn't see a vitamin B12 test. Have you ever had one done? The tingling could be due to a B12 deficiency, as could any of the other symptoms. Are you taking B12? If so, how much and in what form?

If you suspect you may be deficient in B12, a 5000mcg methylcobalamin supplement might help.

I'll have another look through some of your older tests and see if there was anything else.

I do think you would probably benefit from another increase in levo.

Have you had your ferritin checked recently? May last year it was very low. That won't be helping if it is still low. Ferritin (stored iron) really needs to be 70-90 for optimal health.

Iron is important for getting thyroid hormones into the cells to be used.

I've gone from 50mg to 100mg, my GP says my thyroid is normal

if I ask for more i get told no I'd imagine

I'm already taking B12 everyday - I'm taking 5000mcg

That's good about the B12 but do get the iron and ferritin checked.

If you tell him you are still experiencing symptoms and that there is room for an increase without going outside the range, he might agree to a trial increase to see if it helps.

There has been recent research that show that TSH doesn't behave in the same way in hypothyroid patients as it does in healthy patients and that it is better to go by T4 and T3.

It is also fine for TSH to be below range provided T3 remains within range.

I hope your GP agrees!

I've been taking a very good multivitamin for the last 3 months now

Have a look at the pictures on my photo bucket of what I take :-)

That's a good load of supplements!

Any folic acid in there? B12 and folate work together so you need good levels of both. Have you ever had folate tested?

You do take loads of suppliments! I couldn't find the Ferritin result amongst that lot, just wondered what it was. Sometimes they ignore it when it falls into their huge range and forget to check it against CRP. If the ferritin is low in range (eg:mine is 31.4) and the CRP is raised (eg:mine is 8.1 with a range of 0-5) then it suggests iron deficiency anemia. My doctors have completely ignored it so far but it might be worth checking if you have results for both those areas and see if there's a problem there.

Not what you're looking for?
