Clearly you need 25mcg dose increase in levothyroxine and bloods retested 6-8 weeks later

B12 and folate are too low

Are you still taking daily vitamin B complex?

When were vitamin D and ferritin levels last tested

I’m trying to introduce more steak to my diet and sausages but I am gluten-free and I have lots of sensitive to food that I eat that I’ve just found out I’ve done a food allergy test to i’m thinking of getting a B12 injection thank u again for your help x

B12 injection won’t increase ferritin

You need iron rich foods in diet

TurkeY787 profile image
TurkeY787 in reply toSlowDragon

Yes I will add rich food to my diet any ideas of any supplements I could take as my diet is very rubbish and when I eat too much I’m very sick and my B12 is low that’s why I was going to have a injection thank u.

Rather than B12 injection

Get yourself organised with daily vitamin B and separate B12 supplements

A good quality daily vitamin B complex ….One with folate in, not folic acid

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

Difference between folate and folic acid

chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid.

thyroidpharmacist.com/artic...

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Thorne Basic B or Jarrow B Right are recommended options that contains folate, but both are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule). It will turn your urine bright yellow…that’s normal

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

endo.confex.com/endo/2016en...

endocrinenews.endocrine.org...

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement and continue separate B12

Low B12 symptoms

b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a B12 supplement as well as a B Complex (to balance all the B vitamins) initially for first 2-4 months.

once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.

Low ferritin

Read the many posts and replies by humanbean on improving low iron and ferritin

It can take several months.

It can take several months to optimise iron levels, it won't take several months to read my posts on iron and ferritin. ;) :D

FT4: 17.7 pmol/l (Range 11 - 21.2)

Ft4 65.69% Through range

FT3: 4.1 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8)

Ft3 only 27.03% through range

Was test done early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Shows poor conversion

First step is to get all four vitamins tested and at GOOD levels

Folate and Ferritin at least half way through range

B12 at least over 500

Are you on strictly gluten free diet

TurkeY787 profile image
TurkeY787 in reply toSlowDragon

Yes the test done before 730 in the morning yes on street gluten-free diet so I need to get my vitamins checked again all the doctor keeps on saying is that they're all fine they're in range even my consultant told me that no one knows what they're talking about it's just my hair is falling out so much just makes me feel so sad all the time even though you have to deal with all the other things that's going on in your body thank u so much x

Getting vitamins optimal essential

Splitting dose levothyroxine and/or gluten free diet can also significantly improved conversion
