Palpitations, Low Pulse rate and an Arrhythmia

Has anyone had palpitations, low pulse rate and an arrhythmia? I have been put on medication for it (as well as cholesterol & blood pressure tablets although I don’t have a problem with either of them) while they decide what is causing it but I have read somewhere recently that you can get those symptoms when your levels are not right. I just wondered what your thoughts were.

Thanks

A higher cholesterol, palpitations, low pulse rate and heart problems can be due to hypothyroidism. There can also be other causes.

You don't give any information on your profile. Have you been diagnosed as hypo, are you on medication, what dose?

If you have had a recent thyroid gland blood test post the results complete with the ranges and someone will comment.

I was diagnosed as hypo in June 2009 –

TSH was 9.91 (range 0.35 – 4.5) and

Free T4 11.2 pmol/L (range 11 - 24) and was started on 75mg of Levo

My levels have gone up and down over the last three years with my last two being

0.313 TSH and 20.8 Free T4 in May

0.195 TSH and 20.2 Free T4 in June

I have been taking 100mg for the last two years despite numerous trips to the docs saying I wasn’t feeling well.

Your pulse, temperature and BP could be mine!

I am now more or less settled on 100mcg levo but I have to keep changing it. I also get mild "clunks" as I call them , but not all the time. Do you have Hashimoto's? that can make your levels go up and down and make the old heart complain on occasion.

Trouble is that Mother Nature is good at doling out what we need and I'm sure she doesn't give out an exact amount every day...she just gives us what we need. When Mother nature opts out and leaves us to a mere doctor then that's when the trouble starts. We are not machines but it seems doctors think we are.
