Have you thought that its not that your'e getting too much but that what youre having isn't converting. You would instead be making Reverse T3 and that would give you those kinds of symptoms.

It would be best if you could let us know what your'e blood test results are that gave the doctor the opinion that you're on too much. Also you should ask for a RT3 test (may not be received well).

Hope that has helped.

Thank you Susan, I need to go back to the GP so will ask him. I have learnt quite a lot on this site and it is taking a bit to take in.

When I am over medicated the main symptoms are extreme tiredness and breathlessness, no Hyper symptoms at all. I have just reduced from 112.5mcg to 100mcg and within a week the symptoms have more or less gone.

It's all to easy to assume that we must be hypo with those type of symptoms when in fact we are the opposite, yet another confusing twist in the thyroid tale.

It would be good to see your results as Susan suggests.

You say that again. It is a very confusing illness.

Hi Make sure you have tests for at least TSH, T4 and Free T3, then ask receptionist for ranges. Put on here if like. I suspect the GP not doing all the tests or not having them high enough in range, or both. Quite common to need T3 with the Levo, especially for weight. Bloods only way of knowing. If GP will not test properly, perhaps you can pay for them on line, it is just so important. Then the other tests too from GP.

Best wishes,

Jackie

Thanks Jackie, it does help knowing other people are going through similar feelings to yourself. You do feel very isolated and I will cut myself off from friends and family, I feel like I am on a treadmill and sometimes I don't want to pedal anymore. I will ask my GP next time I go. I had a really good GP and he used to explain everything to me but he is on leave so I have had to visit a new GP. The surgery says you can see any GP as they all know you and can treat you, but that is a load of rubbish.
