Why did your doctor decide to lower your dose ? What dose were you on previously and what were your thyroid function blood test results (and ranges)? Sorry about all of the questions :D I am guessing your doctor thought you were over-medicated, but I have found that under-medication can also cause me palpitations. Xx

I was on 100 mg had lots of palps, reduced to 75,was feeling fine for 6 months then started again, reduced med to 50 mg having blood test end of month, don't know blood results from last test, they say it was normal

Yes thyroxine

The link I posted above talks about the trouble with thyroxine but any thyroid hormone can give problems when the adrenals are weak. This makes it difficult to process the hormone. It is easier if you are on T3 or natural thyroid rather than thyroxine (T4). Try to get your test results and post them. Also your thyroxine needs other optimal componants as in your B12, folate, ferritin in order to work well. .

I've had a lot of palpitations but because of being under-medicated. I would give your GP surgery a call & ask for a print out of at least the latest results as there's "normal" & normal!! If you haven't got copies of all of your other results then ask for a copy of those too. You're entitled to a copy of these results. Personally I'd always get copies of all of your blood test's. How are all of your other bloods, i.e., Vit D3, B12, iron, ferritin?

...when you are told things are 'normal' - they mean within the ranges laid down by the labs. What is normal for one is not normal for everyone. So your results and the ranges would be helpful. It was a funny heartbeat that first took me to the Docs before I was diagnosed....all is well now.

I'm sure thyroxine don't agree with me, but when you tell the doctor that, they dismiss it

yes i think so too, they put it down to anxiety etc x

The medicos don't like you to have palpitations. This is why they're so quick to treat hyper patients (where palpitations are more common) and render them hypo. Do your medical people know about this? If not you really oughta tell them.

As soon as I stopped levothyroxine and switched to T3 my palpitations also stopped.
