Is a lump behind my ear related to my thyroid?

I have found a lump behind my ear that is the size of a pea and is very purple. It's not painful but it has grown since I first found it a few weeks ago. Could this be related to hyperthyroidism?

I have no idea whatsoever.

That is the sort of thing that GPs are often quite good at diagnosing - so suggest an appointment soon.

Hi Any lump anywhere needs a check out, possibly biopsy. Going by my own experience, GP`s do not even recognise pre cancerous ones, or any others. So do make sure. If someone in the practice does minor surgery , try them first.

Best wishes,

Please see a dermatologist right away to have that checked - the colour described and the fact that it is growing means you should not delay. If you can't see a dermatologist please see any doctor but get a referral to a specialist as well. I don't want to alarm you but my husband had just that and it was nodular melanoma. Very fast growing and dark purple.
