fion, dont think this is what you mean but just happen to have read article on Robert Graves 1796-1853 who discovered/ identified Overactive thyroid.

The article mentions raised, red itchy areas of skin of lower legs.

I have not had this or general redness except after a few sips of some red wine. Most of time I look pale and grey! with patches of vitiligo or my camoflage look as I call it.

I also have the red patchy graves legs unfortunately

Although I do have red patches on my face but I think it's due to stretching from steroids last year

Hi, yes definitely, this is something I have noticed since taking thyroxine for underactive thyroid since 2010. Cheeks are redder and back of upper arms very red and blotchy !? Particularly noticeable is also a red rashy look to neck over thyroid area and red chest (as has my sister who is also on thyroxine following radioactive iodine treatment for overactive thyroid after childbirth some years ago-family thing? No -other sister is fine). Have to put foundation on neck and cheeks daily now - tried changing Levo brands-no difference. Minor compared to some issues on here but gets you down :(
