Goitre

Hi has anyone had a swollen painful thyroid? Does the pain radiate out to ears headache and shoulder? I am seeing my doc later to discuss medication , I have had the antibodies for about a year probably and blood testing Monday showed raised tsh and low t4 . Just wondered if it will go down with meds?

are you not on medication? you've had the antibodies but had no drugs?

there is no answer to your question, some do some don't respond to meds, some people have surgery or radiation or eat newts (probably)

There are foods to avoid. but it depends very much on whether you are hypo or hyper at the moment.. the blood results and your other symptoms will help answer the question really
