Happy again. Injury, recovery, repeat...

I'm happy.

My toes are warm and tingly - such a lovely feeling. I'd forgotten how good warm toes feel!

I don't need to 'nap' every afternoon.

I can get through my teaching day with energy to spare. This week I stayed late after school and some of my students helped me put up a display of their work. It looked great... there was no way I could have done this a few months ago.

The new apple tree I planted last summer is flowering - it obviously enjoyed being wassailed with beer in January!

It's the weekend and...

... my sore knee is slowly recovering at last. I won't be running again, I've learnt my lesson and will have to find other ways to tackle the fitness/thyroid belly.

my walking is now more of a slow waddle than a painful limp, so I'm happy about that too.

:)

Thank you Smooze.

I'm hoping it will last this time and that I will learn to manage hypo better. I'm pleased I have my up-beat back!

Have a lovely weekend too! :)

It is a wonderful feeling when you feel you are getting back to normal health.

This is a link (2 pages) which covers weight gain whilst on T4.

Thank you Shaws - you are always so considerate!

I went on the scales today and have actually started to lose a little weight - just a couple of pounds but this is major progress!

I'm eating less foods which contain gluten, and while I've not given it up completely, I've drastically reduced them. This is the only change I've made. I did this because there seems to be this link between gluten/thyroid issues.

I also know my TSH level must be really low now and my active hormones really high, because I feel so well - I'm active, no unexplained aches, no need to nap - my entire list of symptoms has improved and in most cases they are non-existant!

I convert T4 well at present, and I'm lucky that monotherapy suits me.

xx

I find this really inspiring and have looked at your previous posts. Not a stalker lol.Would you mind doing a full blog of before and after? With any supplements etc? Glad you are feeling better.

Hi Lilliput

Sorry to not get back earlier - I've had a very busy week. Another indicator that my thyroid treatment is working really well - I could never have coped with a busy week a while ago!

Yes, now I'm feeling well again, I will do this - in fact, it's almost done as I kept a diary over the past two years. I just didn't want to submit it when I was struggling again, as I want it to be as positive as posible.

I just need a little update. It's very long - I've put in a lot of detail, which put me off posting a I though it would be boring - but if the details - nutrition, exercise, supplement would help others I will submit it.

:)
