No wonder they got worried...

One blood test came back as TSH a bit low, and T4 a bit high.

At the time I wasn't sleeping well (about 2 - 5 hours a night.

And I'd lost about 4 stones in 4 months.

No wonder the GP thought I was hyper, on the 125 levo a day.

In fact - the sleeping issue got much better when well treated with Armour thyroid.

The weight loss was due to a Lipotrim diet - 425 calories a day for 7 months. Brought me down to BMI 25, from BMI 36 or so.

The blood test was taken an hour or two or three after taking the levo in the morning.

Hi never take any thyroid drugs ( or Beta blockers ) before thyroid bloods, they give a false reading, many years of many blood tests.

I would imagine the problem was too much Levo and not any t3, For that vital you have a Free T3 test, helps all the symptoms and especially weight. usually slightly lowers the tSH, so some GP frightened of it. Very common to not fully convert the T4 in the blood to enough FT3. If you are having armour on a script, good but most of us have to pay for it.Most docs use T4 and T3 first. Even on armour essential to have regular TSH, T4 and Free T3, Differences in symptoms between Hyper and Hypo are very subtle and in fact may even be he same Always ask the receptionist or hospital sec for a print out with the vital ranges, differ. This is routine, your blood. Also when having blood taken always ask exactly which tests, legally they must tell you.

Best wishes,

Jackie

I pay for the Armour.

And I have a full copy of my medical history now.

My GP believes in thyroxine only, and TSH test only.
