Hi Louise, I dont know if you received my previous mails?

Please do you have a list of private endos in my area of Thanet Kent.

I am banging my head against so many walls with GP's at this end

Kind regards

June McKenna

Hello June,

Do you mean this Thyroid UK list of private doctors?

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/diagno...

If you opt to see a doctor who works within the NHS as well as privately the chances are you will not receive advice that is any different from that given to NHS patients.

As one friend of mine says "Same doctor, different carpet!"

You may do better to travel a short distance to see one on the TUK list.

Hi Private doctors is entirely different to an private Endo, who works in the nHS and sees patients privately too. They tell the GP what to do, tests ( if not insurance) and drugs always. They also have a vast knowledge due to the speciality , endocrinology. Private docs I saw in he past were solely thyroid, none of the wider issues, that I had diagnosed on my first Endo consultation. My Endo ,wonderful but Leamington Spa. If you do want her details send me a PM Click on my name..You can research them by you. Look on hospital sites , get names, google their CV and also look on all the private hospital site, within a 20mile radius. Often more info on those but you do want to be sure iirst. Then ask the secretary there consultation fees, all laid down but Profs allowed to charge more. Never have blood tests at a private hospital unless insured, cost a bomb. Consultation often cheaper than a private doc too.Ask the sec if they prescribe what ever the patient needs and attitiude re bloods etc. Generally if sec nice so is the endo!

Best wishes,

Jackie
