laxido management

Due to slow transit bowel and IBS I have been taking laxido on and off for the last two years with several impactions so have experience of upping and reducing the sachets.

However the last few months although acheived soft motions experiencing the most horrendous pressure in bowels with gas and motions now returned to rocks with bleeding on passing.

Has anybody else experienced this as feeling so poorly

Hello, yes, I’ve experienced problems with Laxido, could never seem to get the right amount to have regular stool movements. Also suffered from severe stomach cramps and wind whilst on them.

Have also tried numerous forms of laxatives and natural products like prunes, kiwi fruit etc , but none of them were consistent.

Eventually, this year found that milled flaxseed appears to give me stool movements, not every day but most days. Initially, started with one tablespoon a day but found it too much so went down to one and half teaspoons (have measuring spoons for this) and it works.

I sprinkle the flaxseed every morning on my porridge (sachet ones). It does not look appetising but you cannot taste the flaxseed. I use plain porridge and golden syrup porridge on different days.

If you google milled flaxseed you’ll be surprised at how much goodness there is in this natural product.

It took me 13 years to find a product that keeps me regular and suits me.

Hope you find a product that suits you.

Take care.

I had a gastro appointment and the consultant took me through several laxatives and what they did. Apparently things like Movocol (which I think is like Laxado) just draw water into your bowel but do nothing for motility - so your stool will just kind of sit there being soft until it dries again. Magnesium citrate or oxate is for motility. Here's an explainer: my.clevelandclinic.org/heal....

She said I would need to both soften (movocol) and stimulate due to slow motility (so Bisacodyl (Dulcolax®), Senna or what I'm taking which is Magnesium Oxide.
